Ada pricing in 2026: contract sizes and the rate per conversation

Ada sells committed conversations by the year and lists no price: its own withdrawn AWS offer was $33,000 for 12 months, and Vendr's data on 118 purchases by 35 buyers puts the median contract at $72,000 a year.

Ada’s pricing page now redirects to a form for booking a demo, and the page it replaced listed no prices either, so a buyer’s first number comes from the sales call.1

Two records outside ada.cx stand in for a quote: what buyers signed, collected by Vendr, and a price list Ada itself posted on AWS Marketplace. Vendr’s data on 118 purchases by 35 buyers puts the median contract at $72,000 a year (every amount on this page is in US dollars), with a displayed range of $36,185–$290,800 a year, its 10th to 90th percentile.2 Ada’s own offer on AWS, since withdrawn, was $33,000 for 12 months, with 60,000 conversations included.3 At 3,000 conversations a month, either figure means you pay for a package bigger than you use.

How Ada bills

Ada sells an annual contract for a committed number of conversations, paid upfront. A customer who goes past the number in its order form is invoiced for the extra conversations at Ada’s “then-current rates”.4 Nothing in the terms fixes that rate.

The conversation is the unit, and its definition sets your count. In chat it starts with a customer’s message and ends, in Ada’s words, “with an End User exiting the chat or following 24 hours of inactivity from the last message sent by the Bot”. A customer who returns after 24 hours of silence, or writes on a second channel, starts a new one. An email thread ends after 72 hours of inactivity, and a voice conversation runs from the moment the caller starts speaking until the call disconnects.5 A proactive message counts only if the customer replies.

Contracts priced per resolution also exist. The Service-Specific Terms define an Automated Resolution as “a Conversation between Customer and End User that is not Escalated”, and say Ada invoices upfront for the number bought, “calculated based on the average rate, using a sample size, at which Conversations result in Automated Resolutions”. That is a sampled rate, not a count of each resolution. We found no per-resolution price from Ada.

Ada argues for the conversation. Its pricing guide, published in July 2025 and updated in July 2026, puts the case this way: “Resolution is how you measure performance. Conversation-based pricing is how you scale it.”6 In its example, 500,000 conversations with 25% resolved cost $187,500 priced per resolution and $175,000 priced per conversation. Those totals imply $1.50 a resolution and $0.35 a conversation by our arithmetic, but Ada gives them as an illustration, so we do not treat them as prices and keep them out of the calculator. The example still shows how the bill works: on a conversation contract it follows volume, and an AI that resolves more of that volume does not change it.

Ada’s AWS offer and what buyers signed

Three rows carry Ada’s own words: no list price, the AWS offer and the renewal increase. The two Vendr rows are what buyers signed.

Figure 1Vendr's median is more than twice the smallest package we found Ada listing, and the rate beside it is our own division of that package's price.

The AWS offer is the only price list Ada has put its name to. Ada was the seller, which is why we count it as published although it sits on aws.amazon.com and not ada.cx. Archived copies show the offer on 13 August 2024 and again on 2 August 2026, the last capture. The live page now returns “Page not found”, and Ada’s current AWS listing gives no price: it says “Pricing is based on your specific requirements and eligibility.”8

The longer terms cost $60,000 for 24 months and $95,000 for 36 months, and all three carry the same line about 60,000 conversations.7 The listing does not say whether that is a yearly or a whole-term allowance, but it labels the longer terms “save up to 9%” and “save up to 4%”. Against two and three 12-month terms, $60,000 is 9% less and $95,000 is 4% less, which fits a yearly allowance. Read as a whole-term allowance, the longer offers would cost more per conversation than the 12-month one, the wrong direction for a longer commitment. We read it as a yearly allowance and left the longer terms out of the calculator. That makes the 12-month price $0.55 a conversation by our arithmetic.

An earlier capture, from 24 January 2023, shows a larger package: $690,000 for 12 months, with 1.5 million conversations and a platform fee included.9 That is about $0.46 a conversation, nine cents below the 2024 rate for 25 times the volume.

Vendr’s figures are what buyers signed. The median is $72,000 a year, more than twice the smallest AWS package, and the displayed range, the 10th to 90th percentile, is $36,185–$290,800 a year. Each buyer in that sample appears more than three times on average, so the number of buyers matters more than the number of purchases.

One buyer shows how list and net prices differ. In December 2023 that buyer reported a list price of $196,250 for 300,000 conversations and agreed a 26% discount. That is about $0.65 a conversation at list and about $0.48 a conversation after the discount. Across all its purchases Vendr shows an average negotiated saving of 17.48%.

The newest rate we found from Ada is the AWS offer, but a Vendr buyer’s note from August 2024 describes a rate that had doubled.

“The Ada sales rep noted they have had a price increase and doubled the per conversation rate. We were able to push for a flat conversation rate by committing to a 2 year renewal.”

A buyer, on Vendr, 22 August 20242

The AWS listing carried the same offer for two more years, so the two do not fit together. We found nothing that says which one a new buyer is quoted.

What 3,000 conversations a month costs

Ada sells conversations in yearly blocks, so a small team pays for the whole block whatever it uses. The calculator therefore sets a minimum month as well as a rate. The rate runs from $0.55 a conversation on the low side, Ada’s AWS offer, to about $0.65 a conversation on the high side, one buyer’s list price. The floor is the AWS package on the low side and the bottom of Vendr’s displayed range on the high. Ada bills every conversation its AI agent handles, resolved or not, so the resolved-share slider changes only Ezro’s line.

At 3,000 conversations a month, with 1,800 resolved by the AI, you’d pay about $2,750 – $3,015 a month on Ada, and about $619 a month on Ezro’s Growth plan. At that volume, talk to us about Enterprise, priced for your volume on an annual contract.

Figure 2 Ada: $0.55–$0.65 for each conversation2, 3. Ezro: the cheaper of Starter and Growth at our published prices, counting only resolved conversations. Estimates: rate per conversation. The total never falls below $33,000 a year on the low side or $36,185 a year on the high side2, 3, 7. Ada bills every conversation its AI agent handles, so the share the AI resolves does not change Ada's side; only Ezro's moves with it. The low end is Ada's withdrawn AWS offer and the high end is a buyer's list price and Vendr's range. Contracts are billed annually upfront, and the sentence shows one twelfth. It leaves out the default 10% renewal increase, any implementation fee and Twilio charges for voice and SMS.

3,000 conversations a month is 36,000 a year, well short of the 60,000 in Ada’s smallest AWS package. At the default, the floor sets both ends. On the low side, 3,000 conversations at $0.55 come to $1,650 a month, against $2,750, the AWS package divided by twelve. On the high side, 3,000 at $0.65 come to $1,950, against $3,015, the bottom of Vendr’s range divided the same way.

Usage passes the floor at 5,000 conversations a month on the low side ($2,750 divided by $0.55) and at about 4,640 on the high side ($3,015 divided by $0.65). At 20,000 conversations the range is $11,000–$13,000 a month, which is 20,000 at $0.55 and 20,000 at $0.65, or $132,000–$156,000 a year. Vendr’s median of $72,000 a year is $6,000 a month and covers about 9,200–10,900 conversations at those rates; the higher rate gives the lower number.

What pushes the bill up

Renewal is the one increase Ada publishes: its terms raise the fees for any renewal term by 10% for the same services, unless the order form says otherwise, and contracts renew for a year at a time unless either side gives at least 30 days' notice. A Vendr buyer in April 2024 got a flat renewal by letting the contract auto-renew, and says the Ada rep “flagged this large increase if the contract cancelled the auto renewal terms”. Another, in March 2025, wrote that “Ada will include a 5% renewal cap on contracts”.

Overage is billed at Ada's then-current rates once you pass the committed number. Vendr’s buyer notes include overage fixed at the contract rate, which suggests that is not the default.

Payment is annual, upfront, by wire or ACH on net 30 terms, with a finance charge of 19.56% a year on late balances. The terms we read mention refunds only in the infringement clause, so a committed conversation you do not use is still paid for.

Some costs sit outside the conversation count. One buyer, in October 2023, reported an implementation fee cut from $10,000 to $2,500; Ada publishes no implementation fee. Another, in September 2023, was told a dedicated customer success manager needs a total contract value of at least $75,000. Voice and SMS need your own Twilio account unless the order form says otherwise, and Twilio’s fees are yours. Voice also has fair-use limits of seven minutes for the average call and 100 concurrent calls per bot, with overage charges past them.

Who it’s right for

Ada’s strongest case is a large team that wants one vendor across chat, email, voice and SMS. Its terms cover all four, with a conversation defined for each. The bill is easy to forecast, because it follows volume and does not climb when the AI resolves more of the same traffic. Ada’s former pricing page, archived in February 2026, said that “Every capability you need to maximize automated resolutions is included in your package”, so a larger package buys volume and not features.

G2 gives Ada 4.6 out of 5 from 174 reviews.10 A G2 reviewer on 19 February 2026 wrote “I like Ada for its ease of use and the out of the box integrations” and praised “the amazing customer support”, and called the initial setup “very easy”, at roughly three weeks for the first phase.11

On cost, the same reviewer’s list of dislikes begins “Pricing is a big one”, and a reviewer on 28 April 2026 wrote “Scaling this could become an issue because of the costs involved and inaccurate data.” On setup, a reviewer on 11 June 2024 called the implementation “quite heavy lift” and said the Zendesk integration “could be a lot better and easier to implement”.12 G2 users average 2 months to implement.

It’s likely a fit if

  • Your traffic reaches 4,640–5,000 conversations a month, the point where usage passes the yearly floor
  • You can pay a year’s fee upfront, by wire or ACH on net 30 terms
  • You can give 30 days' notice before each renewal, or negotiate the 10% uplift out of the order form
  • You have a Twilio account, or will open one, for voice and SMS
  • Your contract will pass $75,000, the level one buyer was told brings a dedicated success manager

Look elsewhere if

  • You will use fewer than 60,000 conversations a year, so a minimum package sets the bill
  • You want a price on paper before you book a demo, or a trial before you sign
  • Your policy bars auto-renewing contracts, which Ada’s terms make the default with a 10% increase
  • Most of your conversations will end with a person, and Ada counts each of them

Where Ezro is different

Ada counts every conversation its AI agent handles, including each one it passes to a person, while in Ezro a handoff is never counted. Ezro is an AI operator: you describe a job as steps, in your own words, and it carries them out in your systems over email, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. It waits 72 business hours for the customer to write again before it counts a resolution. A plan costs from $99 a month. Past the allowance on Starter and Growth a resolution is $0.40 to $0.50.

Questions

How much does Ada cost?

Ada lists no price. The median contract in Vendr's data is $72,000 a year, and the smallest package we found Ada listing, on AWS Marketplace, was $33,000 for 12 months. The quote depends on the number of conversations you commit to for the year, more than on any feature tier.

Does Ada have a free trial?

No. Ada sells through a demo, and ada.cx offers no trial. One existing customer on Vendr reported "a free 3 month trial on the AI services in return for an early renewal", which is a retention deal for a current customer and not an offer to a new one.

Is Ada priced per conversation or per resolution?

Both exist on paper. Ada's Customer Terms bill a committed number of conversations, and its Service-Specific Terms add a per-resolution option that is invoiced upfront from a sampled resolution rate. Ada gives no price for either, and the only per-resolution rate we found is implied by the totals in an illustration on its blog.

Does Ada charge for conversations the AI does not resolve?

Yes, on a conversation contract every conversation the AI agent handles counts, resolved or handed to a person. A better resolution rate therefore lowers your support workload and leaves Ada's bill where it was.

Can you negotiate Ada's price?

Buyers do. Vendr records an average negotiated saving of 17.48%, and one buyer agreed a 26% discount. Others report getting overage, the implementation fee and the renewal increase changed in their order forms.

Does Ada renew automatically?

Yes, for one year at a time. The fee rises by 10% at renewal unless the order form says otherwise, and cancelling needs at least 30 days' notice.

How does Ada's price compare with Ezro's?

Ada bills every conversation its AI agent handles, including each one it passes to a person. Ezro bills only resolutions that held for 72 business hours, past a plan allowance, at $0.40 to $0.50 each on Starter and Growth, so the same month of traffic can price very differently; the calculator shows both at your volume.
