Fin’s pricing page1 and Intercom’s2 both state a price of $0.99 an outcome, in US dollars like every other amount here. Where you run Fin sets the rest of the bill: on another helpdesk it adds a base of $49 a month, and inside Intercom’s own helpdesk you also pay for seats, which on the cheapest plan cost $29 a seat a month on annual billing and $39 on monthly billing.
Many guides still say Fin charges per resolution, which was the unit until early 2026. It now bills an outcome, and an outcome includes a hand-off to a person that you configured, so the bill can run above the number of conversations Fin resolved. At 3,000 conversations a month, the two routes end up $39.50 apart.
What counts as an outcome
For most buyers an outcome is one of two things: a resolution, or a Procedure you configure that ends in a hand-off to a person. We use Fin’s word, outcome, for what it bills, and resolution for the first kind. Intercom’s help centre sets one limit: “You’re only charged for one outcome per conversation, even if Fin takes multiple actions.”3
A resolution has a written definition. In Intercom’s words, “following Fin’s last answer in a conversation, the customer either confirms the answer was satisfactory (confirmed resolution), or exits the conversation without requesting further assistance (assumed resolution).” The assumed kind counts once the customer has been silent for 24 hours after Fin’s last answer. Buyers dispute this kind, as the complaints below show. If the customer returns to the same conversation, the resolution is deducted, “even across billing periods”.
Several things are never billed: an escalation from Fin’s default behaviour, such as a customer asking for a human or showing frustration; a workspace-level escalation rule; a Procedure that fails; a reply to a greeting; and a conversation that ends on Fin’s own clarifying question.4
A Procedure that ends in a hand-off is billed at the same $0.99, so a conversation that a person then works can still cost an outcome. Fin for Sales exists only inside Intercom’s helpdesk and adds a disqualification, self-serve routing and a qualification as outcomes, and a qualification costs $9.99.
How Fin’s price has changed
The rate has stayed at $0.99 since at least May 2024, and the unit it applies to has widened. A capture of Intercom’s pricing page from 18 May 2024 prices Fin per resolution at that rate.5 A capture of fin.ai’s page from 22 May 2025 lists a minimum of 50 resolutions a month for other helpdesks.6 The capture from 28 January 2026 has an experiment in its page code that tests the word outcome against resolution,7 and by 1 April 2026 the page says per outcome only.8
Soon after launch, in May 2023, an Intercom team member wrote in a community answer that Fin cost $1.90 a resolution; we found no archived pricing page that confirms it.9
Salesforce’s 10-Q for the quarter ended 31 July 2026 gave the price it agreed in June to pay for Intercom, Inc., which the filing calls Fin, as about $3.6 billion in cash.10 Salesforce completed the purchase on 10 September 2026.11, 12 Fin’s prices on 7 October 2026 were unchanged, but check them again before you sign.
The two ways to buy Fin
Fin sells two ways, and the route decides what sits around the outcome price. On your current helpdesk, fin.ai’s help article sets a base plan of $49 a month that includes 50 outcomes, and unused ones do not carry over. The pricing FAQ calls the included units outcomes and the help article calls them resolutions; we use outcomes.
Teammates are free on this route. Fin’s pricing page promises “Unlimited teammates – No additional seat costs” and “no additional costs, such as integration fees, setup fees, or platform charges”. Fin lists Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks, Dixa, Front, Zoho, Sprinklr and Gorgias, and it supports Zendesk too. You keep paying for that helpdesk, and its bill sits outside Fin’s price.
Inside Intercom’s own helpdesk, Fin is billed beside a seat plan. You need one Full seat at minimum, and Intercom’s help centre says “you won’t be billed for Fin if you’re not using it”.3 Intercom’s pricing page also says “Minimum monthly commitment applies (e.g. 50 outcomes)”; we read that as the standalone minimum, since no page we read states a Fin minimum on this route.
Seats come on three plans. Essential, the cheapest, costs $29 a seat a month on annual billing and $39 on monthly billing; Advanced and Expert cost more, and Intercom’s help centre says Expert is sold through Sales.13 The pricing page opens on annual prices, with the monthly ones behind its billing toggle. Lite seats are free only on Advanced and Expert.
What Fin costs
Seven of the eight rows are prices that Fin and Intercom print; the eighth is the median of what Intercom customers spend in total.

| Median Intercom contract, all products | $36,950 a year | Estimate Vendr14 |
The last row comes from Vendr. Vendr’s data from 425 purchases by 161 buyers puts the median Intercom contract at $36,950 a year, with the middle 80% of contracts running $5,988–$223,523 a year,14 but those contracts cover seats, add-ons and Fin together, so read the median as what Intercom customers spend in total. Our archived copy of the page is from 10 March 2026 and may show different figures from the live page we read on 7 October. Vendr also puts the average saving buyers negotiated on Intercom at 18.27%, again across whole contracts.
What pushes the bill up
On another helpdesk the base is a floor. A team with 20 outcomes in a month still pays $49, which is $2.45 an outcome, and the 30 included outcomes it did not use are gone at month end.
Inside Intercom the seats are the lever. Each added seat on the Essential plan costs $39 a month when billed monthly, and a team that needs several Full seats pays for all of them before its first outcome.
Outcomes can run ahead of resolutions in two ways. A customer who goes quiet for 24 hours becomes an assumed resolution, and a Procedure that ends in a hand-off counts as one. If you configure 300 hand-offs a month at $0.99 each, either end of the calculator below rises by $297. Fin’s usage alerts and hard limits cap this: a hard limit turns Fin off once a set number of outcomes is reached, and new conversations go to your handover steps.15
Add-ons sit on top. Copilot, the agent-assist add-on, costs $29–$35 per agent a month, the lower figure on annual billing, and the Pro add-on costs from $99 a month, with 2,000 credits included and $0.01 a credit after. Fin Voice has custom pricing. On the Intercom route the pricing FAQ also lists WhatsApp by the conversation, SMS by the message, outbound email by the email and phone by usage, with inbound email included; none of those rates is in the calculator.
Fin’s pricing card says “Minimum commitments apply” beside some integrations, and no page we read says whether those differ from the base plan.
What 3,000 conversations a month costs
Fin bills outcomes and the calculator counts the resolved ones, so the share the AI resolves moves both ends. The low end is Fin on another helpdesk. The high end is Fin inside Intercom with one seat, the cheapest on monthly billing.
At 3,000 conversations a month, with 1,800 resolved by the AI, you’d pay about $1,782 – $1,821 a month on Intercom Fin, and about $619 a month on Ezro’s Growth plan. At that volume, talk to us about Enterprise, priced for your volume on an annual contract.
At the defaults, 60% of 3,000 conversations is 1,800 resolutions. On another helpdesk the base covers the first 50, so 1,750 more at $0.99 come to $1,732.50, and with the $49 base the month is $1,781.50, which the calculator rounds to $1,782. Inside Intercom, 1,800 outcomes at $0.99 are $1,782, and one seat at $39 brings it to $1,821.
The two ends sit $39.50 apart at every volume above 50 outcomes. That is the seat’s $39 plus 50 cents, because the base prices its first 50 outcomes at $49 where Intercom’s route would charge $49.50. At 30,000 conversations with 60% resolved, 18,000 outcomes at $0.99 are $17,820, so the low end is $17,819.50 and the high end $17,859.
The high end uses one seat. A team of 10 on the Essential plan would pay $351 more for the other nine.
Who it’s right for
A team already paying for Intercom seats adds Fin at $0.99 an outcome and nothing else; a Zendesk or HubSpot team adds it for a $49 base with 50 outcomes included and no seat, setup or integration fees. The price is on the page, and so is a trial that needs no card, so no sales call comes before the first test.
Fin’s own claims are about speed, and we have not tested them. fin.ai says “Teams with content ready to go can typically deploy within hours, not weeks.” Intercom’s pricing page also advertises an Early Stage programme at “Up to 93% off + 1 year of Fin free”, and we did not check who qualifies.
The complaints we quote are about what counts as a resolution, and they come from Intercom’s own community forum. In May 2025 a buyer who checked a sample wrote that, of 16 conversations marked “resolved by Fin”, nine “are not solved by Fin at all”.16 Intercom replied on 4 June 2025 with its rule: “A conversation is billed as a resolution when the end user gets an answer and doesn’t ask for further help.” A customer who asks to speak to a person is not billed.
An earlier complaint, from April 2024 when Fin was still billed per resolution, makes the same point.
“What I struggle with are a number of cases where I have seen Fin give clearly an incorrect answer, which leads to the customer just abandoning the chat. … As far as I understand, Intercom will declare this a success and charge us the Fin success fee because it didn't lead to the customer having to speak to a person. This doesn't feel right.”
Henrik Lenerius, on Intercom's community forum, 22 April 202417
Intercom replied on 6 June 2024: “if you noticed a Fin conversation that is not resolved by Fin but you’ve been charged for the resolution - you should reach out to us to investigate the issue.” If you buy Fin, sample the conversations it bills as resolved in the first month.
It’s likely a fit if
- You already use Intercom’s helpdesk, where Fin is not billed in a month you do not use it
- Your helpdesk is Zendesk, Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks or Front and you do not plan to move
- Your volume is small or uncertain: the standalone floor is $49 a month, and the trial lasts 14 days with no card
- Your help-centre content is already written, since Fin answers from it
- You can budget a bill that grows with every outcome
Look elsewhere if
- You will configure many Procedure hand-offs, since each one bills at $0.99 like a resolution
- Many of your conversations end with the customer leaving, since a customer who goes quiet for 24 hours is billed as a resolution
- You need voice at a known price, and Fin Voice has custom pricing
- You are wary of pricing changes now that Fin is part of Salesforce
Where Ezro is different
Fin bills a hand-off you configured at $0.99, the price of a resolution, where Ezro treats a handoff to your team as never counted. Ezro is an AI operator: it takes a job you have written out step by step and carries it through in your own systems, for customers writing by email, Instagram, Messenger or WhatsApp. Fin counts a customer who stays silent for 24 hours as resolved, where Ezro waits 72 business hours without another message. Our plans start at $99 a month, more than Fin’s $49 base, and that fee includes a monthly allowance of AI resolutions, unlimited teammates and Operator for building. Fin’s base includes 50 outcomes and bills $0.99 for each one after, and inside Intercom every outcome and every seat is billed.
Questions
How much does Intercom Fin cost?
$0.99 for each outcome, with a base of $49 a month or a seat on top, depending on the route. The median Intercom contract on Vendr is $36,950 a year, but it covers every Intercom product and says little about Fin alone.
Is Fin priced per resolution or per outcome?
Per outcome. Resolutions were the unit until the pricing pages changed in early 2026; today a resolution is one of the two things that are billed, and a Procedure hand-off you configured is the other.
Is there a minimum monthly fee for Fin?
On another helpdesk, yes: $49 a month, with 50 outcomes inside it. Inside Intercom the minimum is the seat, which means one Full seat, from $29 a month on annual billing.
Does Intercom Fin have a free trial?
Yes. It lasts 14 days, takes no card and gives, in Intercom's words, "unlimited access to Fin outcomes, with no limits on usage". Sales can extend it.
Does Fin work with Zendesk?
Yes. The text list on Fin's pricing page leaves Zendesk out, but the same page carries Fin for Zendesk, a Zendesk trial and a sign-up link, and fin.ai's help article names Zendesk beside HubSpot, Freshdesk and Freshchat. Zendesk's own bill stays separate.
How does Fin's price compare with Ezro's?
Past the allowance on Starter and Growth, Ezro charges $0.40 to $0.50 a resolution, while Fin charges $0.99 an outcome and includes 50 outcomes in its base. The units differ, since a Fin outcome also covers a hand-off you configured, so put both through the calculator at your own volume.
